Dr Benjamn BAI

Dr Bai heads Allen & Overy’s China IP practice and has about 20 years of experience in protecting IP in China, the U.S. and Europe. A native Chinese and U.S. trained patent lawyer, he concentrates on representing multinational companies in protecting, licensing, and enforcing IP rights in China, and Chinese companies in resolving IP disputes overseas. With the unique combination of a strong technical background and unique expertise in international IP disputes, Dr Bai has a winning track record for IP disputes and is a trusted advisor to the world’s top companies on IP protection. Professor So was a consultant for many corporations and law firms. He was a visiting scholar and/or consultant of the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago, Philadelphia Stock Exchange, Federal Reserve Bank in St. Louis, Office of the Small Business Administration (SBA), Washington D.C

Mr Charles FAN

Cheetah Mobile

Mr Fan has been the Chief Technology Officer of Cheetah Mobile since February 2016. Mr Fan joined us from VMware, a leading cloud computing company, where he served as Senior Vice President leading its storage and big data businesses. Mr. Fan was also the founder of VMware and EMC's China R&D Centers and grew them from 0 to over 1,000 engineers within three years.

Mr Fan started his career as an entrepreneur, co-founding file virtualization startup Rainfinity, which was acquired by EMC in 2005. Mr Fan is an expert in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure and big data, holding a PhD and Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology.

 

Mr Daniel KALUTKIEWICZ

SENIOR SOLUTION ARCHITECT

Mr Kalutkiewicz is Senior Solution Architect of IBM Watson IoT in IBM China/Hong Kong Limited with over 15 years in enterprise software solutions specializing in international technical sales and implementations. 

 

Mr Kalutkiewicz has worked in R&D and led many projects to develop capabilities for IBM Analytics solution portfolio across industries, including Energy & Utilities, Government, Retail, and University sectors. He has attended multiple worldwide conferences as one of the keynote speakers, including IBM Pulse, IFMA Integrate, NRTA & Advance Energy Conference.

Professor Desmond LAM

Professor Lam is currently the Acting Programme Director of Hospitality and Gaming Management 

Programme. 

 

His research interest lies in gambling behavior, cross-cultural consumer decision-making, word-of-mouth communication, brand and customer loyalty and internet marketing. His research work has been published in leading journals such as Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research, Journal of Hospitality Marketing and Management and Journal of Gambling Studies.

He completed his Bachelor of Business in Marketing, La Trobe University and PhD in Marketing at the University of Western Australia.

Professor Rose Neng LAI

Professor Lai is currently the Associate Dean (Research and Development) in the Faculty of Business Administration at University of Macau. She is a professor in Finance and a director of Asian Real Estate Society (AsRES).

 

Her research interest lies in Option Pricing Models, Risk Management, Real Estate Finance and Behavioral Finance. Her research work has been published in leading journals such as Journal of Real Estate, Journal of Youth Studies and Journal of Property Investment and Finance.

Mr Victor CHUA

Mr Chua is an Investment Director at Gobi ASEAN, working closely with portfolio companies, providing hands-on counsel and value-added services to help them achieve sustainable growth. Prior to Gobi, he was an Investment Manager with MAVCAP where he invested in early stage high growth tech companies. He was also associated with 500 Startups, through their ASEAN extension, 500 Durians.

With the experience of researching and evaluating the capabilities of different asset managers around the region, he brings to the panel valuable insights that will help firms uphold best practices in their investment process.

 

Mr Sanjeev KUMAR

Mr Kumar is a Director of Enterprise Group Pre-Sales, SEATH, for HP Enterprise. He has total 24 years of extensive IT experience in diverse global IT and consulting organizations as an expert consultant, visionary leader and evangelist

 

Mr Kumar previously held various roles in Infosys Technologies, Digital Equipment, HP Services, HP Software Services & Technology Consulting services organization and currently heading Pre-Sales & Enterprise Architects for South East Asia, Taiwan & Hong Kong (SEATH) sub region and have managed a diversified team size of 270+ people in Asia. Mr Kumar earned an MBA in General Management from University of South Australia and Advanced Certificate for Executives in Management, Technology Innovation, Entrepreneurship from MIT Sloan Boston. He currently serves as a mentor in Indian School of Business & actively mentoring few key talents in HPE as Pan HPE Key talent initiative.

 

Professor Zhaotong LIAN

Professor Lian is currently the Programme Coordinator of Accounting Information Systems. He also chairs the Guangdong and Macau Association of Logistics Study since 2012.

 

His research interest lies in logistics and supply chain management, stochastic models and service operations.

He completed his BSc in Mathematics at Beijing Normal University and PhD in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Wilson is the General Manager of SAS Hong Kong, responsible for the company's overall business operations - formulating the go-to-market strategy; driving the company's "Big Data, Big Analytics" intiatives in the market and helping the enterprise to glean business insights from the data assets with analytics.

Since joining SAS in 2015, Wilson has dedicated his energies to building strong and trustd relationships with clients by providing them with advanced analytics solutions to meet the challenges of big data, and collaborating with statistical and analytics pioneers in academia in nurturing new analytics talents and data scientists in Hong Kong who make a notable contribution to the local community. Mr Li is the vice president of Dangdang Inc. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University and Master’s degree from Cambridge Unversity. With over 15 years working experience in the internet industry, he served as product developer and manager in many renown enterprises including Microsoft, Taobao and Sohu Inc.

Mr Li is very experienced in internet technologies including large-scale communication networks, searching system, e-commerce system, sorting and advertising algorithms. Currently, he is in charge of platform development, system architecture, search advertising big data, system operation, R&D project management in Dangdang Inc.

Dr Jie SHEN

Dr Jie SHEN is the Vice President of Wuxi Internet of Things Research Institute. He is the ISO/IEC 30141 IoT Reference Architecture Project Editor, the leader of General Group of National IoT Basic Standard Working Group in China, Vice Chair of TC10 of Chinese Communication Standard Association. He has about 14 years researching experience in IoT and sensor network.

 

The winner of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, Outstanding Graduate Award of Shanghai Universities and Outstanding Technician Award in Jiangsu in 2008, he has applied for more than ten national patents and has been authorised three. He has published more than 10 papers in leading domestic and foreign journals.

Ms Cynthia MENG

Jefferies 

Cynthia is the founder and CEO of Credence Investment Holding, a private equity investment and advisory firm focusing on the fast growing new economy sectors in Internet and Technology industries.  She was the managing director, head of greater China TMT equity research at Jefferies until May, 2016. Her research has a particular focus on consumer Internet behavioural changes as a result of emerging technologies, and long term shift in China's population demographics.

 

She has over 17 years of experience in the global TMT industry including strategy consulting for technology companies, and working as equity analyst for JPMorgan, BofA Merrill and Jefferies. Cynthia graduated with an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University.

Constantin Stahlknecht is the Business Group Lead of Windows & Devices in the Marketing & Operations Group (M&O) in Microsoft Hong Kong. Prior to his current role, Constantin Stahlknecht was the Category Lead for Microsoft Switzerland responsible for the Device strategy for the Swiss Consumer Market. Before that he held several Sales and Marketing roles with focus on Business Development and New Product Implementations in Switzerland & Germany, starting with the role of Business Manager for the OEM Division for the Microsoft Western Europe Region overseeing the performance of 12 countries, based in Munich, Germany.

Ms Yvonne TSUI

Ms Tsui is the Country Manager of FireEye Hong Kong and Macau. A veteran with 20 years of experience in the information technology sector, Yvonne is responsible for leading and directing the growth, profitability and market share leadership of FireEye in Hong Kong and Macau.

 

Prior to joining FireEye, Ms Tsui was a sales director in Symantec, through the acquisition of Veritas, managing the enterprise account team in Hong Kong. She received her Bachelor of Arts with major in marketing from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Australia.

 

Mr Kwek Ping YONG

Greater China Centre for Private Equity

Mr Yong is the CEO of Inventis Investment Holdings, the largest private equity growth fund in China with over USD6.2 billion of capital 

under management. The Inventis funds spread across three different mandates: the Greater China fund, a global investment fund and a Korean country specific fund. 

He is a TED speaker and the author of two acclaimed books on China, Private Equity in China: Challenges and Opportunities (Wiley 2012) and Due Diligence in China: Beyond the Checklists (Wiley 2013). He teaches private equity courses at the Wharton School, Singapore Management University, London Business School, Imperial College Business School and the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo in Russia. Yong is also the Centre Director of the Greater China Centre for Private Equity (GCCPE) and an Adjunct Scholar at the University of Macau, China and a Senior Fellow of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA.

Ms Tang is the Director of Business Development at Damballa, which specializes in networking monitoring for advanced threats. Damballa monitors nearly 15% of the world’s Internet activity and protects more than 0.5 billion devices.

 

Ms Tang has extensive experience in IT security enterprise solutions within the Asian market, while engaging in research and development projects into various firewall and proxy authentication technology. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from University of California, Irvine.

Mr Zhang is the Vice Director of Noah’s Ark Lab for data mining, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). With over 14 years of experience in telecommunications industry, software design and 

development, software and system architecture design and engineering within Huawei Technologies Co Ltd.

 

He also took an active part in his country’s experts meetings on national telecommunication standards and also on international telecommunication standards (mainly ITU-T), and is a member of core expert group in National “Important Special Projects of Crucial Electronic Devices, Hi-end General Chips and Basic Software Products” Program.
